Not just a sport but a program to help youth become better Americans. Our coaches are trained to ensure participants maintain their ACADEMIC standing and ensure INTEGRITY through the sport and the daily actions of its youth members. MARKSMANSHIP comes with dedication, practice, and a desire to become better than we are today.
Eustis Gun Club has youth, adult, specialty, and league groups at our outdoor shooting range, allowing something for everyone in the family. Kids can enjoy trap and skeet with peers their age.
Cowboy Action Shooting
Cowboy action shooting (CAS, also known as western action shooting, single action shooting, or cowboy 3-gun) is a competitive shooting sport that originated in Southern California in the early 1980s. Cowboy action shooting is practiced in many places with several sanctioning organizations, including the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), Western Action Shootists Association (WASA), and National Congress of Old West Shooters (NCOWS), as well as others in the U.S. and other countries. CAS is a type of multi-gun match utilizing a combination of handgun(s), rifle, or shotgun in various “Old West-themed” courses of fire for time and accuracy. Participants must dress in an appropriate theme or era “costume” and use gear and accessories as mandated by the respective sanctioning group rules.
IDPA
The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real-life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide. The organization now boasts a membership of more than 20,000, including members in 50 foreign countries. One of the unique facets of this sport is that it is geared toward the new or average shooter yet is fun, challenging, and rewarding for the experienced shooter. The founders developed the sport so practical gear and guns could be used competitively. An interested person can spend a minimal amount on equipment and still be competitive. The main goal is to test the skill and ability of the individual, not equipment or gamesmanship. “Competition only” equipment is not permitted in this sport.
Shotgun
Shotgun Sports consist of four disciplines at Eustis Gun Club, Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, and Five Stand. Member pricing for Trap and Skeet is $5 per round of 25, and Sporting Clays and Five Stand is $6 per round of 30 birds. Guest fees are $10 and $7 per round; the guest fee is payable to the Match Director before the shoot. As with all our scheduled shoots, you must arrive 30 minutes before the posted start times.
Along with our scheduled group shoot, we offer Automated Trap and Skeet. See the RSO on duty; he will issue a shoot card and open the Trap or Skeet field for you.

Black Powder
The “Skunk Skinners” group has been holding muzzleloader / black powder shoots since 1981. The shoots are held the 1st Sunday of every month except July, when no match is offered. Registration is from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The shoot begins immediately after the safety briefing at 8:00 AM and concludes by noon. The Eustis Gun Club is a National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association charter member.

EGC hosts a monthly Service Firearms Shoot we are trying to make more appealing to members, their families, and guests. We aim to have fun shooting Military Service Rifles & Pistols with other members. Please take a couple of minutes to read this and consider joining us whenever you can. Members and guests interested in participating in the event are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun!
* There are two Classes of Service Rifles. Vintage (M1 Garand and older) & Modern (M14 and newer, including AR platform)
* Service Pistols will be part of the activity and will be shooting from 25 yards. See details about pistols below.
The cost is FREE if you do not shoot in a match and use your targets. If shooting in a match, there is a $5.00 fee for each relay you shoot. The fee covers the cost of targets, awards, and other expenses. However, due to space constraints, paying participants have priority over shooting positions.
Mentoring is available! All of us were inexperienced shooters at one time, and even the most experienced shooters look to others for help. Some of our experienced shooters will remain after the shoot to help anyone (including teens and family members) with fundamentals like posture, position, sight alignment, and sight picture, answer any questions, and point out anything that would help. Bench Rest
Benchrest shooting is a shooting sport that demands high accuracy while shooting at stationary paper targets at a fixed distance. Measurements are taken in Minutes of Angle (MOA). The rifles used in Benchrest competitions ride on a front and rear rest. The rests sit on a table or bench, hence the “Benchrest.” The shooter sits at the bench, in distinction to other shooting disciplines, where the shooter holds and aims the rifle without a rest. The Benchrest shooter must read range conditions (wind speed and direction, light, atmospheric conditions like humidity and barometric pressure) and adjust the point of aim to compensate for variables. Due to advances in the manufacturing and assembly of modern rifles, most modern rifles will outperform their operator. This is the challenge of shooting. Tuning your rifle, formulating and tuning your ammo, breathing, trigger control, following through, learning to read the wind, and adjusting for range variables all contribute to an exciting day at a match and the overall challenge presented to the shooter.
